Blog Tour: The Offering(The Pledge #3) by Kimberly Derting

The Offering (The Pledge, #3)Author: Kimberly Derting
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Number of Pages: 304

Synopsis:
"True love—and world war—is at stake in the conclusion to The Pledge trilogy, a dark and romantic blend of dystopia and fantasy.
Charlie, otherwise known as Queen Charlaina of Ludania, has become comfortable as a leader and a ruler. She’s done admirable work to restore Ludania’s broken communications systems with other Queendoms, and she’s mastered the art of ignoring Sabara, the evil former queen whose Essence is alive within Charlie. Or so she thinks.
When the negotiation of a peace agreement with the Queendom of Astonia goes awry, Charlie receives a brutal message that threatens Ludania, and it seems her only option is to sacrifice herself in exchange for Ludanian freedom.
But things aren’t always as they seem. Charlie is walking into a trap—one set by Sabara, who is determined to reclaim the Queendoms at any cost."
Dark and riveting, The Offering has you on an emotional rollercoaster that leaves shocked that it's actually done.

The first thing I have to say before I say anything else is that this series is absolutely amazing and it just gets better and better as it goes on. When I first started The Pledge back in 2011 when it first came out, I never thought it would end up being as dark of a series as it now is. It is most definitely not a bad thing, without the darkness I don't think this series would be as amazing as it really is.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book. Throughout this series each book has a different problem (obviously) but they all also contain the same problem-Sabara. Everything that happens in this series has to do with Sabara. I really think that Sabara is a very unique character and as much as we hate her we also grow to realize that we like her, because without her this series would be shit. Everything would be everywhere.

You really see the romance in this book even though there isn't much of the kissing and such. I think this is the reason that makes Kimberly Derting stand out among some of the other authors out there. She manages to show such love and chemistry between two characters without having them do all that lovey dovey stuff. You can just see it-er, read it, by how the characters act towards each other.

I just have to mention how much the characters have grown in this book, especially with all the threats looming over their head. They really do manage everything with responsibilities and with careful thought. I really look up to these characters because of this.

This book had some great action scenes and as a fan of war/action games it was a thrill for me. I really loved reading it all and picturing it in my head. The imagery in this book is phenomenal. Just as The Essence did, my feelings were everywhere.

If you haven't read this series then I HIGHLY recommend it. I think with all my crying and yelling out in emotional pain I've convinced my sister to read the series, that is if I haven't told her all of everything in my ranting. Hopefully she does read the series and she will write her thoughts for you guys!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars!!
