Review: Searching For Beautiful by Nyrae Dawn

Searching for BeautifulAuthor: Nyrae Dawn
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Number of Pages: 304

Synopsis:
"Before, Brynn had a group of best friends, a loving boyfriend, a growing talent for pottery. She had a life. And after…she had none.
When Brynn lost the boyfriend who never loved her, the friends who feel she betrayed their trust, and the new life just beginning to grow inside her, she believes her future is as empty as her body. But then Christian, the boy next door, starts coming around. Playing his guitar and pushing her to create art once more. She meets some new friends at the local community center, plus even gets her dad to look her in the eye again…sort of.
But can Brynn open up her heart to truly find her life’s own beauty, when living for the after means letting go of the before?"
A beautiful read about a girl who refuses to give up when life has tried to pull her down but all she does is get back up.

I loved this book. I was a bit hesitant going in because of the subject matter. The book did start off kind of slow and I did find the main character, Brynn, to be very naive at times but I still really enjoyed this book.

Brynn is a girl who has seen the horrible side of falling for a guy, she's been hurt, lied to, and overall she feels cheated. She doesn't let all of this stop her from living, sure she holds back when it comes to certain but she makes an effort to try and live a normal lifestyle-I give her a lot of credit for that. It takes a lot of effort to get up after what she's been through and still want to get out there and be with people, help people. She is truly a strong character even though she feels like just falling sometimes.

Christian....he's a strange guy-in a good way. He's kind, caring, and he doesn't judge or believe in rumors. He has to hear it from the person themselves for him to believe something. I give him a lot of credit for that, in a way he is kind of the climate boy next door. I have to say though that he has an amazing mom(SHE IS SO COOL!). He's also ridiculously funny and blunt at times.
“I can’t believe my music isn’t inspiring you. Guys who play guitar are supposed to be hot, right? I know I find hotness inspiring.”
The plot is amazing. It really has a lot of life lessons that really fits into the world and this future generation we are living in. This had some lines that you just feel in love with and I just kept rereading them over and over and over again because they are just so perfect. My favorite line has to be:
“It’s funny how life moves in a complete circle sometimes. There might be lots of bumps in the road and maybe even a few cliffs, but it’s a journey, and sometimes it can bring you to the most wonderful places.”
There are also so many other lines that just are simply very beautiful and inspire you. I was inspired by this book and it definitely gave me the courage to battle the life struggles that me and every other person goes through.

I HIGHLY recommend this book and I think a lot of people would benefit from reading this book. When you read about these characters-even if they are fictional-and the struggles they go through, you want to stay strong like they did and keep fighting.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars!!
